It has been 15 years since I went to Bonn, former capital of Western Germany. It was a business trip so I didn't get to see much of the city, I enjoy your lovely pictures all the more!

Now this brings back memories ! That's where I lived before moving to Brussels, went to school and had my friends !
At that time you even could swim in the Rhine !
One more interesting discovery, nice set of pictures from a lesser known city.
There is something special about cities on big rivers and Bonn is no exception. I like your shot of the playful fountain with the children statues on the cobblestone street. Saw something similar in Gengenbach, although there the kids were not in a fountain. Nice!
I think I've said before that you are very fortunate to be able to travel and visit so many wonderful cities like Bonn.

I thought the word, "bonn," might have the meaning of "good" in German. But so far as I can tell "bonn" refers only to the city.

My youngest son would be in heaven as he plays the piano. Stop by Friday for a photo of him in action :-)
Never spent much time in Bonn, even though it was only a couple hour drive, but I always remember the tall steeples we'd see when we drove past it. Great shots. Thanks for the memories.
I was supposed to pass Bonn on a river cruise a couple of weeks ago, but the water levels were too low so we moved by bus instead and skipped Bonn. Disappointing.

Just to complete a comment above: Bon(n)a was a celtic name for village. You find ... bon in many city names. So, this was obviously THE village! :-)
