voila une petite ville qui parait toute jolie et bien tranquille, comme assoupie dans le soleil d'autumne.

This looks like a wonderful old Belgian city suffused with a mix of beautiful architectural styles. Lots of elegance!

I must say, also, that your header is such a delight - an array of festive and colorful sights that cannot help but leave the mark of the season on hearts everywhere!

Also, yesterday, in an article describing a recent study done of European cities, the conclusion was reached that Luxembourg was the "safest" city in which to live in all of Europe! I thought that was pretty cool! So now I won't worry about you, Leia, taking the bus long distances at odd hours of the day and night! :-)

How beautiful ! 3 years ago we spent Christmas there. The parents of my "DIL" had an old farm house their as holiday house. Malmedy is such a nice town. Unfortunately they sold it and bought something new in the North of Holland.

I also just read about your city as being one of the safest in Europe.

I especially like these pictures as Malmedy was one of those places during world war 2 that was torn up.

Your photography is always beautiful and the subjects you choose to photograph are of things none of us will ever get to see in our lives.

Each time I come here and see such beauty I always want to ask what kind of camera are you using but then I type a comment and forget to ask.

What kind of camera are you using? It might be one that others would enjoy owning.

It never ceases to amaze me how different the towns in the different European counties look. This is definitely Belgium; not France, not The Netherlands. But each as their own charm. Did I tell you before I was born in Belgium? :-)

A little town, so close to borders between countries, cultures, languages… that it has had to suffer a lot. Hopefully, the future will be less problematic. In the meantime, it seems to have kept a wonderful charm!

Looking at these images, who would guess that some of the most bitter fighting of World War II took place here as Hitler's troops tried to push through here in what has come to be called "The Battle of the Bulge" in December, 1944?

Jack said...

You present us another of your fine sets of photos, Cezar and Leia. This is a lovely town. I enjoyed reading the comments from your readers. Louis' comment that this is the site of the Battle of the Bulge is a shocker. Today it appears quiet and prosperous, as if it were always free from cares.
